A dedicated consent screen per purpose is user-friendly.

PrestaShop's famous puffin now manages its website cookies using Axeptio's module. You can also find this module in their marketplace. We wanted to know why PrestaShop chose Axeptio's solution. Marine Dizol, Legal Manager, tells us everything.

Hi Marine! Axeptio's cookie management module is now available in the PrestaShop marketplace. You use it for the Prestashop.com website. Why did you change your solution?

PrestaShop used to use a homemade tool that had become obsolete with respect to the new recommendations of the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL). We could have developed a compliant version in-house, but there were other priorities.

So I looked for alternatives and met with several publishers. We compared the solutions available on the market. However, what I found wasn't very easy on the eye, and didn't fit in well with our sites. In addition, we needed a tool that was quick to implement.

And then, when we logged into our GDPR project management platform, we saw that our supplier Data Legal Drive uses Axeptio to manage their cookies.

What were your criteria for choosing a new tool?

We were really impressed by Guillaume's demo! The tool allows you to manage everything in a really customized way.

In addition, Axeptio is a French company.

Another advantage is that integration is very easy and fast. The operational staff had no trouble getting used to the tool. The Axeptio teams provided top support.

Many of our cookies were already managed by the solution. Adding custom cookies was easy.

What made you want to switch to our solution?

We had specific UX-UI requirements, and the design of this tool fits well within the environment.

It doesn't look like a "big block". There's nothing worse than a huge banner in the middle of the web page. A big banner at the bottom of the screen is no better!

Axeptio's widget is on the contrary small, discreet, and fits well. You can change the colours. It does not interfere with reading the pages, which is a plus. Making the module accessible using a small button on the side of the browser is nicer and more user-friendly. Ultimately, we are very happy with the appearance of the module on the website.

The ability to collect consent according to purpose was a criterion. It's much clearer and more readable for the user to have a dedicated screen per purpose rather than a big table with lots of lines lost in a section explaining cookies.

It's user-friendly and allows for clear reading.

Regarding the collection of consent, what did you like about our approach?

The presence of a switch next to each cookie on the module and the fact that you can directly access the privacy policy concerned are also part of the real assets of the tool developed by Axeptio.

As a user, I find that the accessibility of the module on all pages of the site is an excellent feature. We know that we can revisit the banner to take note of the available information at any time. It is very reassuring and is a real advantage of the solution.

Did you have any concerns about user reactions?

At first, we were concerned about giving them the option of objecting to the placement of cookies. We ran some tests and saw that it wasn't an issue. The high accessibility of the module on the website was therefore not a problem.

In a nutshell, what did you find particularly attractive about our solution?

I would say I really enjoyed :

  • its simplicity of use;
  • its easy and quick integration;
  • the particularly accomplished design;
  • consent management.

Thank you for taking part in this interview!

Thank you.
